GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS

What we fund

We make grants for work with: Women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and/or social deprivation.

Who can apply?

We give grants to local Agencies in the UK (with special interest in the West Midlands) and partner Countries where we have an interest (in practice this will be Russia, Uzbekistan and currently Africa).

You do not have to be a Registered Charity but if you are a UK based project you must have a Constitution or set of Rules, a Management Committee and a Bank Account.

Type of Grant

Grants may be given for one-off Projects (A progress report will be required within a six-month period following reciept of Grant). Ongoing grants will rarely be made.

How to apply

Please write a letter/email of Application (no more than two sides of A4) stating who you are, the problem you are seeking to address, and how you will address it and how much your Project will cost.

All applications must be accompanied by the Charity's most recent Annual Accounts or a signed Budget sheet. Please do not send Videos or bulky research reports.

Please note that, as with other Charitable Trusts, The FATE trust recieves more Applications than it has funds to support. Even if a Project fits within the guidelines and a detailed assessment confirms the eligibility, the Trust may still be unable to make a donation.

Exclusions:

We are not able to fund:

Individuals - this includes Students undertaking research, expeditions or gap year projects and Charities raising funds to purchase equipment for individuals or to fund work which is the responsibility of Statutory Agencies;

Holidays and Holiday centres;

Core funding of general community facilities such as Community Centres and Village Halls;

If your Project is not connected to Domestic Violence against women and children.

These exclusions are in place and will be kept under review.
